Protein Oatmeal with Bananas Recipe

How to Make Protein Oatmeal with Bananas Recipe?

Here is an easy to make breakfast that results in protein-rich oats with fresh bananas as the sweetener. It will give your oatmeal a boost by adding a sweet flavor that will keep you full till noon.

Ingredients

Almond milk: Almond milk blends incredibly beautifully with water as the liquid to boil the oats in. If you don’t have almond milk, you may boil the oats with any type of milk or simply water.

Chia seeds: Try adding some chia seeds or flaxseeds to the oatmeal to give it extra protein and substance. They will thicken and become gel-like when cooked with the oats, increasing your feeling of fullness.

Rolled oats: Although steel cut oats may take longer to cook and quick oats will result in a softer consistency, rolled oats offer a great texture.

Whey protein powder: We recommend going with MuscleTech’s vanilla cream flavored Nitro Tech Whey Protein. This protein powder is rich and bulks out the oatmeal to increase feelings of fullness. Any of our flavors of protein powder will do, but we find that vanilla protein powder pairs well with bananas.

Sweeteners (Optional): It is absolutely optional, and typically omitted for conserving calories, but if you are able to spare some calories, or are bulking, granulated sugar or maple syrup are some good sweetener options.

Bananas: After the oats are cooked, this is sprinkled on top as a garnish. Try caramelising it in a different skillet with coconut oil and brown sugar for an added delight. Other fruits, including apples or strawberries, can also be used.

Preparation

  1. In a small pan, bring the milk, water, and salt to a boil.
  2. Stir in the oats and chia seeds after adding them.
  3. Once the liquid has been absorbed, continue cooking the oats until they are mushy.
  4. Remove from the heat, whisk in the dissolved protein powder, then add the bananas and cover the pan until the bananas soften.
